Irish woman uses ASIST training, receives Commendation Award

Recently, an ASIST-trained nursing assistant from Ireland contacted LivingWorks with a wonderful story. Eilish Nicholas from Derry, Northern Ireland, says that in August of 2006, she was able to use the skills she had learned from taking ASIST to prevent the suicide of a young man. A member of the Police Service of Northern Ireland was present during Eilish's intervention, and nominated Eilish for a Chief Commander's Commendation Award. Eilish was recognized for her good work at a ceremony in December of 2006, where she was presented this award (see below). Way to go, Eilish!
