CONFIGURATIONS: The LivingWorks corporate logo may appear vertical or horizontal. The program logos are horizontal only. A symbol and logotype together form each logo. The logos are stringently proportioned. The size, relationship and positions of the two elements cannot be changed.
COLOR: The color versions of the logos are preferred. They are for use on white or light colored backgrounds. Full, process color (CMYK) is required to print the color versions of the corporate logos, whereas the color versions of the program logos may be printed using two PMS (spot) colors or full CMYK color. The one color (black) versions are for use on a white background, in black-and-white applications. The reverse (white) versions are for use on darker colored and photographic backgrounds, in black-and-white and color applications.
CLEAR SPACE: Proper margin (clear space) allowances around the logos must be maintained. The "x" height of the logotype is the standard unit of measure for calculating clear space and other size and positioning requirements. The logo should be separated on all sides from all other copy, photos, or illustrations by a clear margin area of at least one "x" height measurement.
LOGO MISUSE: Unacceptable treatments of the logo include stretching, rotating or skewing, and the application of 3D effects such as dropshadows or bevels. Do not frame the logo inside of a box or border.
Color
LivingWorks has six corporate colors, the primary of which is PMS 3015. Each program utilizes one of the corporate colors as the primary color in its logo, and as the identifying color throughout its corresponding collateral.
Typefaces
PRIMARY: Frutiger, from Linotype, is LivingWorks' primary typeface. It is used throughout all training and marketing collateral, including the logotypes. It is a sans serif typeface that originated for signage, so it is highly legible and accessible to an international audience. It has a clean, modern appearance, yet it is still warm and casual with organic aspects that support LivingWorks communication goals. There are numerous weights for versatility.
DISPLAY: Brisa, from Sudtipos, is LivingWorks display face. It may be used sparingly to distinguish text such as a headline or slogan from other text. It has an informal, handwritten quality that provides a good contrast when paired with Frutiger. It is used in the "suicide-safer communities • saving lives for tomorrow" descriptor.
SYSTEM: When a cross-platform, "system font" is required for on-screen applications such as PowerPoint and email, Arial is used for body text and Arial Black is used for headers. Lucida is the typeface used on our website.
Photography and illustration
LivingWorks use of photography illustrates the way we work together—with colleagues and caregivers of all kinds—to contribute to suicide-safer communities. Our intent is to be as culturally and racially sensitive as possible to the manner in which suicide impacts us all. A universal "living spectrum" image supports LivingWorks "imagine… a suicide-safer community" theme of hope.
