safeTALK Wallet Card App for iOS

This app is for persons who have taken safeTALK and are aged 15 and above

The safeTALK wallet card app is an interactive version of the safeTALK wallet card distributed at the end of safeTALK by safeTALK trainers. Just like the printed wallet card, the app serves as a recap of the safeTALK training. The Invitations module is interactive and guides the user step by step on how to identify a person with thoughts of suicide and potentially help that person. And there’s more… the app allows you to add KeepSafe Connections that are shared with your Contact app. It uses your GPS to locate potential connections from your community as well as connections in other locations.

The safeTALK wallet card app was released in August 2010 for testing. It can now be downloaded from the App Store by all safeTALK trainers and participants that have attended a safeTALK training. It is compatible with the iPhone, the iPod Touch and the iPad.

This app is free to download and reprises the utilities and look of the traditional safeTALK wallet card. Now trainers can offer the printed card as well as access to the app for those who have that technology.

  • The safeTALK wallet card app offers safeTALK participants a brief recap of the TALK steps. It’s a great studying tool.
  • Users can decide who their KeepSafe Connections are and can manage them on their own. KeepSafe Connections are automatically added to the iPhone Contact app.
  • The geo-location (GPS) features will assist trainers, organizers and participants find local community resources. This feature provides quicker access than using a local phone book directory.
  • The general suicide resource database is good for those who want to carry more research on suicide.
