I am a nurse, an ASIST and safeTALK Instructor and suicideTALK Trainer. I am a Senior Training Coach with Living Works Education and have been delivering training in suicide prevention programming since 1995 and have been involved in suicide prevention work since 1982. My training experience has been in working with corrections workers, students in law enforcement programs such as corrections and policing. I have trained police officers, nurses, counselors, teachers, first nations communities, youth, group home workers, hostage negotiators, doctors, students in counseling & child and youth care programs, members of the LGBTT community,Indigenous Police Preparation Programs at the university and local colleges, social workers, child and youth care workers, Band Constables, elders and many other community members,etc.
I am involved in local suicide prevention initiatives.I am passionate about helping community members become better prepared to help a persons at risk of suicide thereby helping and empowering communities to become suicide-safer.I also am involved in training ASIST and safeTALK trainers providing coaching, support and mentoring to trainers and communities, locally, nationally and internationally.
I believe that suicide prevention is everyone's business and that we all need to work together to help keep our communities safer from suicide.
