Suicide is global and so is this podcast. A World Where LivingWorks talks to experts worldwide, discussing stories of science and survival. Our first episode goes live SEPTEMBER 1 but you can check out the trailer here.
Suicide can be prevented—and everyone has a role to play. Life-saving skills can be learned by individuals, businesses, and communities everywhere. Together, we are helping to save lives across the globe. Join us as we hear from technical experts and people with personal expertise when it comes suicide and its prevention.
Our first episode, “Building Networks of Safety” touches on the history of LivingWorks with Dr. Bruce Turley, who has been working with the team for decades on design, development, and evaluation of the suite of LivingWorks programs. He is joined in the podcast by Edmund McCombs, Head of External Partnerships and General Manager, Social Sustainability for the global property and construction company, Lendlease.
The podcast is hosted by Kim Borrowdale, a communications specialist who lends her expertise to socially conscious organizations, with recent years spent working in the suicide prevention and mental health sector. Kim has a lived experience of suicide and is passionate about building community capacity for prevention, having recently completed the LivingWorks safeTALK Training for Trainers course to become a provisional trainer.
In subsequent episodes of A World Where LivingWorks, Kim will talk to representatives from the United States National Guard, the FBI, the Singapore Association of Social Workers, the Australian youth mental health organization Orygen, and many more with professional and personal experience of suicide and its prevention.
New episodes will come out every Tuesday in September as part of our activities for World Suicide Prevention Day, Suicide Prevention Awareness and Mental Health Month.
